Little Breaks

The key to keeping your sanity as a Peace Corps Volunteer is to leave site every once in awhile. Since I was supposed to work this weekend(rain ended up preventing me from doing it), I decided to take my weekend break in the middle of the week and met up with some friends in the city Matagalpa. I've been there before, but it's a big city, so naturally there is always more to see. Our first night we indulged in Mexican food. Next day we explored a bunch of different cafes- Matagalpa is the coffee capital of Nicaragua. We also explored a waterfall just outside the city. Only a five minute walk down to the base from the street, and we were in paradise. Sitting on the rocks looking at the raging cascada, I couldn't believe this was how I was spending my Thursday.

Plus, we ate awesome food. Like donuts!
